Jesus tells us, “But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you” (Matthew 6:33). Often in life we can become fixated on the things of this world. We grow anxious over our finances, our work, our schools, and our future. The world is not short on things to worry about. That is why Jesus says first focus on your vertical relationship before you focus on the horizontal stuff. In other words, look upward before you look outward each day.
When we set our eyes on Jesus, we are reminded that he is faithful and he will provide. He provides for the needs of his children, and he provides for the needs of his church. This Sunday we will look back at Light the Way and be reminded of His recent provision. The Lord richly blessed us these past two years. Now that we have concluded this generosity initiative, we will celebrate God’s goodness as we have watched him eliminate our debt, expand our mission, and extend the message of Jesus Christ. As we look back to his providence, we will grow in our confidence for what he will do next at ABC.
