The Heart of Christmas

And the angel said to them, “Fear not, for behold, I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people” (Luke 2:10).  The Christmas season has officially arrived!  I’m looking forward to all the festivities that will come in the days ahead.  From serving families in need at Light Up Austin, to our annual Sights and Sounds of Christmas concert and festival, to our meaningful candlelight services on Christmas Eve, I believe these coming weeks truly are the most wonderful time of the year.

As we walk through this season together, we will set our eyes on Bethlehem in our sermon series, “The Heart of Christmas.”  This new series will examine Luke 2:10, and we will discover the heart of the Christmas message:  we have good news, of great joy, for all people.  I hope you plan to join us every Sunday during the month of December for this special time of worship.  I also encourage you to not come alone!  The Christmas season is the perfect time to invite someone to church, so prayerfully invite your neighbors, co-workers, and friends to come celebrate that the Light has come.

Have a wonderful week, and I look forward to seeing you this Sunday in worship at 8:45am or 11:15am.

Onward and upward,

Jonathan Spencer
