Dr. Jonathan Spencer

Senior Pastor, Austin Baptist Church

Pastor Jonathan has served as the Senior Pastor at ABC since July of 2020.   He was born and raised in Austin and then moved to College Station to earn his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Texas A&M University.  While in college, Jonathan began to sense a calling from God to enter full time ministry.  Upon graduation he moved in faith to Houston to take on his first ministry assignment at Second Baptist Church, led by Dr. Ed Young.  Jonathan remained at Second for the following 12 years and served in a multitude of pastoral positions and roles.  During that time, he also earned his Masters degree from Liberty University Baptist Theological Seminary, and he then went on to earn a Doctor of Ministry degree from Gateway Seminary in California.  Pastor Jonathan is married to his beautiful wife, Bethany, and they have 3 wonderful kids: Emma, Jacob, and Daniel. Away from the church, Jonathan loves cooking out in the backyard, watching football and basketball, deer hunting, game nights with friends, and spending time with his family.
